'Alchemy' was a series produced in collaboration with Photographer Becky Palmer featuring jewlerry by Annoushka Ducus, and displayed at her flagship boutique, 41 Cadogan Gardens, the art works integrating jewels from her eponymous fine jewellery collection.
Model's included Amber Le Bon, Daisy Lowe, actress Ophelia Lovibond, performer Eliza Doolittle and fashion legend Virginia Bates - illuminated by a golden light yet also shrouded in darkness, thereby challenging the viewer to ascertain “where the body ends and the jewellery begins.”
Emerson has rendered “statement pieces” from Annoushka’s collections as ornate, abstract collages which, “enshrining” her subjects will embellish them like sculpture. Ultimately, the enigmatic, life-size figurative works will seek to project the tactile sense of wearing jewellery which inspires Annoushka’s design process. “Rosie’s images are very fluid and perfectly emulate the way I believe jewellery should look and feel,” observes Annoushka. “Jewellery should adorn the body seamlessly, so that you forget you are wearing it. Or, its pleasurable feel should entice you to you to play with it. Above all, jewellery should move naturally with you.”
