Private Commission

I'm very happy to share this commissioned work created for Katie Woods of her lovely mum.

I took a black and white photo of Katie's mum as a starting point and finished the work with watercolour, bronze powder, charcoal and shimmering powders. Very pleased how it turned out!

Scroll down for more photos of the framed up image and where it now takes pride of place!

The commission came through Smithson Gallery so thanks very much to Anna for helping to make this happen.

Slots for commissions are booking up already this year but if you have an idea you'd like to discuss please email me.

Art on a Postcard Winter Auction 2020

I am pleased to have two prints in this year's Art on a Postcard Winter Auction. The event runs from the 5th to 29th November and is raising money for the Hepatitis C Trust.

My prints Ebony Rose and Dreamers are up for auction.

This auction will focus on The Hepatitis C Trust’s helpline which is staffed entirely by people who have had hepatitis C. The helpline has become a key component in the current Infected Blood Inquiry the largest public enquiry in British history, which was launched to investigate why infected blood products were being used to treat NHS patients prior to 1992.

Behind the Canvas, Decorazon Gallery

I was recently interviewed for a new feature from Decorazon Gallery, where they explore the motivation, inspiration & background of their artists.

Below are a few extracts, but you can read the full interview in their mailout and view my updated artist page on their website.

"I feel very fortunate that I come from a creative family.
My parents' house is full of delftware, old books, broken pots and flotsam and jetsam, things salvaged off skips, and handmade gifts.
My father is a cabinet maker and I loved spending time in his workshop discovering secret drawers and compartments in the beautiful old bureaus and desks he was restoring."

"My grandmother Keyna Emerson is also a painter. She attended the Slade School of Art in London just before and just after the second world war, and continues painting, though her dream was to be a set designer. I’ve been thinking of this a lot, whilst looking through her books on set and costume design and making my own theatre maquettes."
